Colin Cooper
Connecticut's Chief Manufacturing Officer
Colin Cooper is Connecticut’s first chief manufacturing officer. He was the executive chairman of the Eastford-based Whitcraft Group, a sheet metal manufacturer and one of the larger aerospace supply chain companies in the state, doing business with Pratt & Whitney, GE, Rolls-Royce and other large manufacturers. He remains on Whitcraft’s board.
Prior to joining Whitcraft, Mr. Cooper was a managing director at Alvarez & Marsal Inc., a nationally recognized crisis management and turnaround consulting firm specializing in operational and financial restructurings and before that he worked as an associate in corporate finance for Drexel Burnham Lambert Inc.
Mr. Cooper has more than 25 years of professional experience as a design engineer, investment banker, crisis manager and aerospace executive. He has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Tufts University, an MBA from Columbia University, and began his career as a design engineer for Pratt & Whitney.
